Ziwei Doushu is a traditional Chinese fortune-telling technique. It started with Lv Chunyang of Taoism, and until the Song Dynasty, Chen Xiyi organized it systematically. Mr. Luo Hong of Ming Dynasty and Qingcheng Taoist priest of Qing Dynasty made it even more prosperous. In the 1960s, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other places became popular, and many people studied this kind of arithmetic. "Dou" refers to the Southern Dipper and the Big Dipper in the sky, which contains about one hundred and twenty stars. Because "Ziwei" is known as the "Star King", it is called "Ziwei Doushu". Using the year, month, day and time of birth, the main stars are distributed in it to create a horoscope, including: Life Palace, Brothers Palace, Husband and Wife Palace, Children Palace, Wealth Palace, Disease Palace, Migration Palace, There are twelve houses such as Friends Palace, Career Palace, Homestead Palace, Fortune Palace and Parents Palace.
Because there are many stars in Ziweidoushuli, some of the more influential and far-reaching stars are generally selected and placed in the horoscope for fortune-telling. The more influential Xing Yao is shown on the left:

Each star has its own unique properties and meanings. The encounter of different stars in the same house or being photographed by other stars will have different effects. The strength and weakness of Xing Yao in its palace position are combined with the restraint of yin and yang and the five elements; through these relationships, a person's good and bad luck and fleeting fortune are deduced. Because of its good accuracy in predicting fate, it is loved by the general public. |
